Park City Real Estate 2016 2nd Quarter Market Report

By amandapeterson

1405The summer is half over and the real estate market is still cooking. It has been a hot one but a relief to be in the cool mountains. As always, there are plenty of fun things to do up here and I can't get enough. I'm a big fan of the Deer Valley concert series and love the parks and trails and summer outdoor dining. It feels so good. Park City and the Heber Valley have enjoyed a good year of real estate with values climbing but at a steady pace. Click HERE to read the full 2nd Quarter Market Report.

The Western Mountain Resort Alliance is a member based organization that tracks and shares Real Estate data among its members. Have a careful look at the Vail and Park City statistics since Vail is now operator of the Canyons Resort in Park City.  It seems that the shared marketing has had some impact. Graph 3Graph 1graph 2

Summer is finally on its way here in Park City. Two weeks ago it snowed and Memorial Day weekend will hit the 80 degree mark with clear blue skies. Gardens are seen with covers draped across fragile plants for overnight and trails throughout the valley humming with users at the lower levels. The 8,000 ft. trail still has major patches of snow. School kids are making plans for summer and tourists gone until mid-June.

The first quarter of 2014 has some very interesting trends. Click here to view the report

Park City Real Estate 2013 Year End Market Report

By amandapeterson
Feb 20, 2014

jumps It's Olympic month and no community is more excited than Park City, Utah. Since 2002 when we hosted the Olympics, athletes, athlete families and athlete enthusiasts have made the greater Park City area their home. Many live here, train here and enjoy the lifestyle and training facilities. Living amongst such energy and wonderful people is one reason Park City is a great place to live, work and vacation.

Take January this year. Olympic trials were held at our venues: Deer Valley, Park City, the Olympic Park and Soldier Hollow. These competitions and celebrations were a highlight of the month and exhilarating to watch. And at the same time, Sundance attracted movie goers, celebrities, film business executives and a ton of press. We were in the news daily.  Some might think that this kind of intense activity would make the town a mess. On the contrary. Everything ran like clock work. Skiers experienced uncrowded slopes, while movie enthusiasts filled the theaters from morning well into the night. It was truly a great month of fun.

The best news is that the real estate market is making a good recovery. Transactions are up. Values staying almost the same. Click here for the latest update on the Park City Real Estate Market.

Olympic Trials in Park City...I Was There!

By amandapeterson
Dec 31, 2013

20131229_122732_resizedThe Olympic Trials held at the Olympic Park in Park City was a stellar experience.  Not only was the weather perfect, and tons of vendor free stuff, these young athletes really put on a show.  It was close.  Really close for the women.  Only 2 small points separated 1st and 2nd place for the women and the winner received an automatic slot for the Olympic team in Sochi. Jessica Jerome edged Lindsay Van by such a small margin.  I was really proud of my community for coming out to support this historic occasion.  This is absolutely the first ever team of women ski jumpers to compete in a Winter Olympics and they are all fighting hard to be selected.  Even more astonishing is that 4 of the 5 top contenders are from Park City.  We do support our own here.  This community loves athletes and it was evident by the huge turnout Sunday.  CBS sports thought it a special occasion too by airing a 90 minute live special on this and other Utah events on Sunday. You just had to be there and I was!!!

The team placed 3 in the top 10 with Sarah Hendrickson taking 1st, Lindsey Van 7th, and Jessical Jerome 10th.
